St Columba School Debate on Water Fluoridation
Children from St Columba Anglican School, Port Macquarie, discuss their knowledge and research on water fluoridation. The affirmative team makes the claim "Fluoride - There's nothing to hide." The negative team ask that their water remains free of fluoride, "Keep it natural, keep it clean" is their slogan. You can listen to the debate here.....
We won't pay for Fluoride
We've had a fantastic response to our full page article in the Independent newspaper, this week and last week. It seems that there are many people furious with fluoridation and willing to hit council where it hurts the most if fluoridation goes ahead. Many, many Hastings residents have filled out forms, warning council that they do not consent to having fluoride added to their drinking water and therefore have NO CONTRACT with council with regards to accepting or paying for fluoridated water.
Read the complete article here...
If you are a rate-paying Hastings resident, then it is important that you complete this form to advise the council that you will not be paying the water volume component of your rates should fluoridation go ahead. It will be too late to do so after it happens.
No Contract/NonConsent forms are available for download here....
Send completed forms to Gwarehouse, 1/14 Fernhill Rd, Port Macquarie 2444 (Be sure to keep a copy for your own records). Once a minimum number of forms have been collated, they will be presented direct to the council administrator at an upcoming council meeting.
Council awards fluoridation plant tender to local company
Last night Port Macquarie-Hastings council awarded a local company, Gary Bannister Construction, the tender to build a fluoridation plant in Rosewood. Well, Gary will have to drink the water too, unless he can afford a Reverse Osmosis filter or if he chooses to drink tank water. Shame on you Gary! You're now part of the government ploy to force Hastings residents to swallow hydrofluorosilicic acid. I'm sure you'll profit from this but the rest of the community will not.
Locals have their say against Water Fluoridation
Today's Independent newspaper features a full page article on Port Macquarie-Hastings Council's rush to fluoridate our drinking water. We congratulate the local business owners who are not afraid to make their position public knowledge and thank the residents and health practitioners who are doing their utmost to help inform the rest of the community. Council calls for Tenders to build Fluoridation Plant
Five years ago, Robyn Kruk, who was the NSW Health director-general "directed" Port Macquarie-Hastings Council to fluoridate the water supply. According to the council, delays have been due to "funding issues" and "ongoing debate about dosing rates and systems". The council is now "on track" to fluoridate and has started calling for tenders to build the fluoridation plant at Rosewood, near Wauchope.
One of the first tenders was published yesterday, 16th December, for the Design, Manufacture and Delivery to site of Fluoridation Switch Gear and Controlgear Assembly.
Tenderers can apply here. But tenderers really should know that this community has twice voted to reject water fluoridation and will not take kindly to your involvement in forcing us to drink fluoridating chemicals. We'll be watching the process with interest!

Fluoridation Forum in Wauchope Sat 12th Sep 10am-12pm
A Fluoridation Forum will be held on SAT 12th September, starting at 10am, at the Wauchope Rotary Youth Hall. Andrew Stoner will be coming and anyone concerned or interested in this issue should also be there. We need large numbers of people to attend to show the government and the media that this issue is extremely important to the majority of people in the community. Anyone living near the site of the fluoridation plant at Rosewood, should definitely attend this forum. The closer you live to the plant, the higher your dose of fluoride will be and when errors are made in dosing, and they will be, you will be most at risk.
Protect your Baby from Toxins Workshop
We've had great feedback from the Nontoxic Baby workshop held last weekend. Thanks to Sue Montgomery, Food Coach and Food Additives Expert for sharing her yummy healthy food and her vast knowledge of what to avoid in the shopping aisle. Melanie, our resident Naturopath caused furious note-taking when she discussed the best supplements and holistic therapies to support a healthy pregnancy. The toxins affecting unborn children and the risks to new babies from widespread industrial chemicals was covered by me. Everyone was given a list of simple ways to minimise this exposure so it wasn't all doom and gloom. Apparently the workshop "wasn't long enough". That has to be a good thing!

Radio Interview on Fluoridation
Thanks to Tim from 2WAYFM for giving us the airtime last Thursday evening and then posting our interview on youtube. As he says, "It really was a very rare thing that we did . . not even on the ABC would you be able to listen to such a comprehensive discussion about an issue so important in the local community."
"Dr Caree Alexander and David Blackshaw lay down the frightening facts about fluoride as one seaside town prepares for a major change to their water supply"

Fluoride Information Meeting - Great Start
Thanks to everyone who attended our first meeting. The feedback on the DVD (Professional Perspectives on Water Fluoridation) was great. It was agreed that showing this DVD would be the most appropriate and concise way to inform other professionals, including dentists, doctors, politicians etc. There will be another meeting in a couple of weeks and we would love to see another good attendance. If you are a member of a local group, professional association or club and would like us to present the DVD to your group as well as answer questions on water fluoridation, please get in touch (6581 2411).
In the meantime, download the Letter of Non-Consent to Water Fluoridation here, and submit it to Peter Besseling or Andrew Stoner, depending on which electorate you are in.
Professionals Perspectives on Fluoride Sat 13th June
Join us at the Port Macquarie Library at 9am on Sat 13th June to hear what scientists, chemists and even the Nobel Prize winner for Medicine and Physiology (2000) have to say about water fluoridation. After viewing this well-made DVD, we will have a brief discussion about how water fluoridation will impact on our community and what we can do about it. Please invite your friends and anyone who believes that water fluoridation is a good thing, including dentists, hygienists, dental assistants, doctors etc. Watch an exerpt from this DVD (Are kids being overdosed on fluoride?) here...

Non-Consent to Water Fluoridation
In addition to signing our online petition to stop the forced fluoridation of the Port Macquarie-Hastings water supply, please print off this Letter of Non-Consent and post it to the government representatives listed. NSW parliament next sitting day is the 5th of May. Would be great if individual petitions could start to be presented in May. There are no sittings for July and August, so make sure we start the ball rolling ASAP.
Join the Fluoride Fight
According to Murray Thompson, Port Macquarie-Hastings Council's water supply manager, a fluoride plant should be in operation by the end of the year. They are supposedly still in the design phase and haven't yet commenced building the plant at Rosewood. This is a state government funded project expected to cost $2million! Hydrofluorosilicic Acid (an industrial by-product of fertiliser manufacturing) is the so-called “fluoride” being used.
The company supplying our council with this toxic chemical will most likely be Incitec Pivot, an international chemical company that specialises in the manufacture of fertiliser! See the Certificate of Analysis for Fluorosilicic Acid here. Note the heavy metals, including lead, arsenic, cadmium, mercury etc which will also be added to our drinking water. Anyone interested in helping to fight FLUORO-POLLUTION of our drinking water supply, please contact G warehouse. You can email me through the website or call on 6581 2411.

Port Macquarie Hastings Council is now accepting polystyrene free at all transfer stations. It is being redirected to a company using polystyrene to make pods for the building trade.
